This fairly easy DIY project is a colorful addition to your front porch or can also be displayed indoors. You can create the pumpkin/gourd filled wire basket and display that for the Fall season; then you could add the jack-o’-lantern eyes and mouth just for Halloween.
This metal topiary sphere on Amazon is a great start for under $20. You would have to get larger pumpkins to fit inside. Plus you could display this as décor anytime.
Fill the baskets with an assortment of pinecones, faux gourds, acorns, colorful leaves, anything Fall. You can always line the inside with soft chicken wire to add smaller décor inside.
This 50 piece set would work well with a smaller mesh topiary form!
Or this larger 24 piece set on a wire form that has larger openings.
You could use real items for this DIY project, but that tends to get expensive and won’t last all season.
The Pumpkin stem is any piece of wood you find while walking or in the woods. The eyes and mouth, cardboard or foam board.
