Wild Planet SkipJack Tuna Review

I have been health and environmentally conscious for over 25 years now, as well as a Frugal shopper. Frugality doesn’t always mean getting something cheap. It also means getting the best for what you spend, and if you’re going to spend more, it needs to be worth it.

This Wild Planet Skipjack Tuna, it is truly worth it.

The flavor is undeniably so much better than any other on the market, that I can tell. I have always enjoyed Tuna Melts, Tuna Noodle Casserole, Tuna Cheddar Chowder, or even White Bean and Tuna salad! Yum!  One of good things too, is that you don’t have to drain this tuna! Just pour it in whatever you’re making!

This can contains tuna and it’s juices, that’s it. You’re not paying for oil or water. This is pure hand packed tuna. You’ll see big solid chunks of tuna meat, not little semi-solid bits and definitely not that cat food look. The smell is completely different too. Nothing off-putting, actually smells like good fish. The quality of this can of Skipjack Tuna is far beyond any other.

Skipjack Tuna is one of the smaller tuna, and in theory have less mercury (larger fish eat smaller fish containing mercury). Frequently referred to as light tuna, Wild Planet Skipjack Tuna is 100% pole and line caught one fish at a time – sustainability best choice.

Definitely the tuna this household is buying…period. Great tuna, environmentally friendly and sustainable, and it tastes great (even right out of the can).
